Lewisville ISD Announces Appointment of Dr. Tina Krol as Chief of Middle Schools

Lewisville ISD announced May 11 the appointment of Dr. Tina Krol as the district’s new Chief of Middle Schools. Krol most recently served as Principal of Briarhill Middle School, a position she has held since June 2023, where she has proven ability to drive high-level academic results and collaborative campus cultures.

"Dr. Krol is an exceptional, homegrown leader who embodies the heart and dedication of Lewisville ISD," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp. "Her diverse experience leading at both the elementary and middle school levels ensures she is well-equipped to support our campus leaders and continue the great work happening across our middle schools."

Dr. Krol has worked in education for 19 years,  all of which have been in LISD. Before leading Briarhill Middle School, Krol served as principal at Killian Middle School from 2020-23 and principal at Hebron Valley Elementary from 2017-20. She began her career in public education as a math teacher at Killian before transitioning to assistant principal at the campus for five years.

"I am incredibly honored and humbled to serve as the next Chief of Middle Schools for Lewisville ISD," Dr. Krol said. "I am eager to work alongside our talented middle school principals to ensure we are providing the very best learning environments and experiences for our students during these critical years of their education."

A highly decorated professional, Dr. Krol was recently named a Finalist for 2026 Secondary Principal of the Year. Her previous accolades include being named the 2020 Elementary Principal of the Year, the 2017 Assistant Principal of the Year, and the 2012 Campus Teacher of the Year. She is also a multiple-time recipient of the PTA Lifetime Award, earning honors from Briarhill, Hebron Valley, and Killian Middle School.

Dr. Krol is widely recognized for her focus on student learning and academic excellence. Under her leadership, Killian Middle School earned the prestigious designation of a National Model PLC Campus in 2023.

Dr. Krol earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University in 2020. She also holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Texas. Dr. Krol joins LISD’s other school Chiefs, Chantell Upshaw (HS), Rachel Garrett (ES), and Stephanie Lawson (ES).
